The EOCT Book Awards
Once again EOCT is working in partnership with the Schools Library Service to deliver the annual Book Awards project. Students are currently reading around 200 books to come up with shortlists for both the Riveting Reads and the Picture Book Awards. The final ceremony will take place in June 2018.
Southdale students are participating in a number of PE activities at Ossett Academy throughout this academic year including Sports Hall Athletics, Trampoline Taster Sessions, Handball and Rounder’s festivals, as well as participating in sports fixtures against other EOCT schools.
The Big Build will begin in January with the whole of year 5 participating in lessons that will be delivered by a member of staff from international engineering firm Jacobs Engineering. The project will culminate with the final Big Build day at Ossett Academy in July.

THE ONE SONG
What an amazing time~
To start the day off from when we arrived at Eastbrough School. We were welcomed with yummy biscuits and delicious juice. Minutes later we were introduced to students that we did not know but were to make friends with.
The reason that we came to Eastbrough School was we could record the One Song, make more new friends, meet new teachers and last but least have fun!
After We had recorded the One Song we celebrated by joining in lots of activities. All in all, we had a amazing time and would do it again.

THE ONE SONG EVENT
We went to the one song event because we went to record the song and do some activities and of course make new friends. The schools that took part were: Southdale, Southparade, Holy Trinity and the school we went to Eastbrough. I enjoyed learning new actions for the song and the change places game.
The first thing we did was the change places game and then got on to the song. Afterwards we went to out first activities and then got back together for another part of the song. Then went to our final activities and then sang the whole song.
After that we met the writer of the One Song and sat whilst it was recorded. Finally it was time to go back to school. I hope we do something like this again in the future.
